FRIDAY, JULY 14, 2007

Miami, FL HISPANIC PR WIRE - Miami, FL--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--July 13, 2007--Spanish Broadcasting Systems (SBS) (Nasdaq: SBSA) announced today that the next film to air in the Mega Cine series will be “Guantanamera,” a satirical film directed by Juan Carlos Tabío. The film will air this Saturday, July 14 at 8:00 PM with Cuban actor Gilberto Reyes as host.

“Guantanamera” includes a stellar cast such us Carlos Cruz, Mirta Ibarra, Jorge Perogurría, Raúl Eguren, Pedro Fernández and Luis Alberto García. The movie begins with the death of Aunt Yoyita, an old Cuban woman who passes away from a sudden heart attack during a visit to her relatives in Guantánamo. As a result, her relatives must take her body back to Havana to make funeral arrangements and prepare for the burial. On the way to the capital, the characters find themselves in absurd situations, which make for hilarious storylines leading up to an unexpected ending. Much like “La muerte de un burócrata,” which aired last week on Mega Cine, this film shows how difficult it is to rest in peace when there are so many bureaucratic issues that need to be handled first.

“Guantanamera” has won various awards for its cinematography, including; Best Original Screenplay, CINEMA WRITERS CIRCLE AWARDS, Spain, Best Foreign Film, Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, Best Actor and Best Film, Granada Film Festival, second place at the Havana Film Festival as well as an award at the 1996 SUNDANCE Film Festival.

Do not miss the award-winning film “Guantanamera” on Mega Cine this Saturday, July 14 at 8:00 PM on your favorite station, WSBS-Mega TV Channel 22.
