Over
500,000 thousand copies of “Barrio Fino
en Directo” have been sold, placing Daddy
Yankee for 4 straight weeks at the top of the
Billboard Sales Charts.The single “Rompe”
a favorite for nine straight weeks. The artist
is ready to launch his clothing line with Reebok.
Once
again Daddy Yankee is crowned as the King of
sales in reggaeton. His most recent album, Barrio
Fino en Directo, is steady in sales since its
debut on December 13th with over half a million
units sold in the United States alone.
According
to Billboard Magazine, the album’s first
single, “Rompe”, has been at the
top of the Hot Latin Songs chart for over nine
weeks. Also, the Puerto Rican superstar positioned
himself at No. 1 on the Latin Tropical Airplay
chart and on the Top Latin Rhythm chart.
Daddy
Yankee’s success has proven to not be
limited to a Latino public. Barrio Fino en Directo
reached No. 25 on Billboard 200 of the Anglo
market. On radio airplay “Rompe”
jumped from 85th to 64th place and is being
heard on both Spanish and English radio stations.
Also,
the “Rompe” music video has gained
great acceptance on behalf of the public on
such programs like TRL (Total Request Live),
where fans vote for their favorite music videos.
“Rompe” is at # 5 on TRL and at
# 1 on MTV.com.
Barrio
Fino en Directo, a production by Daddy Yankee’s
El Cartel Records and Interscope Records, is
a CD/DVD packed with exciting new collaborations,
behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive interviews
and live performances.
Currently,
Daddy Yankee is getting ready to shoot the video
of “Gangsta Zone” with Snoop Dogg.
His next encounter with his fans is in February
at the highly anticipated Festival Viña
del Mar in Chile. Among the Barrio Fino en Direct
promotional tour, private concerts, and the
production of his unplugged album, El Cartel,
Yankee raps up “Talento de Barrio”,
a film to be distributed by an international
company.
Daddy
