Venezuela
is the birthplace of Hector "Rudy" Regalado, founder
and leader of the Los Angeles based Latin Jazz band known
as "Chevere". This talented ensemble is comprised
of a list of musicians that reads like the crême de
la crême of the Los Angeles music scene. Chevere's
colloquail adjective of Cuban origin truly describes Rudy
and this exciting, high energy group of musicians. Rudy's
musical developement began in the surrounding rhythmic wealth
of his childhood, while peddling his mother's home cooked
arepas and other Venezuelan delicacies in the music filled
streets of his hometown of Caracas. He grew up to become
an internationally renowned percussionist who mastered the
streets of timbales (drums), as applied to Latin Jazz and
Salsa music.
